We use this fan on our dogs when we go camping with the dogs and horses or when we go training. It's a great fan when it's used correctly and it breaks when used incorrectly.

We only use the fan when the vehicle is parked. It is NOT MADE TO HANG ON THE CRATE WHEN DRIVING. If you wait until you are stopped you will be fine. We just returned from two weeks of horse camping in the National Forest, when we rode (4 to 7 hours a every day) we left our dogs in crates in the back of our camper with these fans blowing on them. We only had to change the batteries once in 2 weeks.

When people buy the fan and hang it on their crate - then drive around with it hanging - it will break. It's a plastic fan. It will break if it is abused.

Instructions for Use:

Uses 2 x 1.5 volt "D" batteries OR 3 volt adapter (150-250 mA) [not included].
Remove rear battery cover and insert the batteries as the diagram in the fan shows.
Rotate the 2 hooks at either end of the fan so that they are pointing straight out.
Use the Off (O) - Low (L) - High (H) switch to select the desired fan speed.
Hand the fan on the outside of the pet crate or kennel (so the logo faces you).
The faster the fan is operated, teh quicker the batteries will need to be replaced.
Use the Low (L) setting for maximum battery life.
When not in use, the 2 hooks at either end of the fan can be closed.

NOTE:

The fan will operate on both Low and High Speeds when you are using batteries. However, the fan may only operate on High Speed when an adapter is used. Do not tamper with the circuit board, switches or internal wiring. REMOVE THE BATTERIES FROM THE FAN IF IT IS USED WITH AN ADAPTER.
