The 200NCP Gold™ bridges the gap between our popular beginner pet trainers and our more advanced pro series. It incorporates many of the features as our Pro-series at a more affordable price. Features include water-resistant transmitter/waterproof receiver, half-mile range nick/constant stimulation and our patented non-stimulating pager mode along with Dogtra's industry-leading durability. Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries.
The strap for the collar of the 200NCP will fit up to an 28-inch neck. (Larger collar straps up to 32 inches are available for purchase. If you need one, just ask when you place the order.)
The Dogtra 200NCP is considerably smaller than the larger collars like the 1900NCP. They are also about 1/2 the weight.
The 200NCP collar also comes with shorter contact points than the 1900NCP. (1/2-inch long)
The big difference in the 200NCP vs. the 1900NCP is the overall size of the collar. The 200 has a smaller battery pack than the 1000, making it lighter. The only downfall to this is that the 200 does not “recover” as quickly as the larger collars. Some trainers like to use the Nick button over and over very quickly, one right after another. Because the 200 collar has a smaller battery pack it may take an extra second or so to “recover” and be ready for the next use. Most trainers do not notice this extra second.
The standard collar strap for the 175NCP measures 3/4 inch wide by 29 inches long. This strap will fit up to a 22 inch neck. Larger straps are available for dogs with larger necks.
*Not for dogs under 12 pounds.

Get longer contact points for your e-collar.

The instant I saw a friends remote collar with a Cinch-It collar strap I was hooked. I have used remote collars for almost 30 years. I know how hard it is to get the right adjustment or fit when putting a remote collar on my dog. The Cinch-It is perfect! It's a simple to put on and take off and it adjusts in only 2mm increments.
You simply wrap the collar around the dogs neck - feed the strap into the clip and tighten. Then adjust the collar up under the dogs jaw and quickly re-adjust to get the perfect fit. It you have it too tight you simply hold the "Release Button" and let out slack 2mm at a time until you have it the way you like it.
The problems with remote collar straps is you are often working in increments of 1/2 inch due to the pre-punched holes in the standard e-collar strap. Too often the collar is either too loose or to tight.

Remote Collar Training for the Pet Owner DVD
If you are new to remote collar training you need our Leerburg remote collar DVD. This 2 3/4 hour DVD is the best on the market. I produced this DVD in 2005.
Most remote collar manufacturers have produced a training DVD that comes with their collars. All of these companies mistakenly feature Avoidance Training in their DVD's. In my opinion, this is a huge mistake. I have trained dogs for 45 years and have used remote collars for 25 years. There is a better way!
In its simplest form, the way avoidance training works is to first stimulate the dog with the collar and then give a command. The concept is you teach the dog to "turn off the stimulation".
In my opinion this is BACKWARD training. It's unfair to the dog. You correct the dog before you even ask him to do something. Dog training needs to be BLACK and WHITE and this method of training is GREY. Dogs trained in avoidance training often don't understand where the stimulation comes from because the stimulation comes before the command.
Does avoidance training work? Absolutely! It is a very quick way to train a dog. This is why professional trainers use it. I guess if I trained dogs for people I would probably consider using it because it is so quick. I am thankful that I don't train other peoples dogs and I can take the time needed to work with my own dogs.
I prefer my way of training. I teach the dog that the stimulation comes from ME. I want my dog to know that I AM THE ONE WHO CAN REACH OUT AND TOUCH HIM any time I wish.
To accomplish this I always teach the dog the meaning of a command first. I use motivational methods for this training. The dog is motivated with food, praise or a toy during the learning phase.
Once the command is understood, I then introduce distractions so the dog can move into the correction phase. When a dog refuses a command it is ALWAYS told "NO" and given a very short period of time to comply (about 1.5 seconds ). If it does not comply after the command "NO" then it is stimulated with the remote collar.
This simple concept is very BLACK and WHITE to the dog. It either minds or it is told "NO" and is stimulated. Dog's quickly learn that they MUST LISTEN TO YOU AND FOLLOW YOUR VOICE COMMANDS or there are consequences.
My video teaches how to desensitize a dog to wearing a collar (in a much better way than the manufactures training DVD's). It teaches how to determine the level of stimulation to use on a dog because every dog is different. It also covers problem solving and aggression issues in dogs. If you go to the web page on this DVD you can read a detailed description of what's on the DVD.
In closing, I will say that all of the collar manufacturers should go back to dog training school. They have their head stuck in a hole for 25 years. They promote a method of training that was used 25 years ago. Don't fall into their trap. This way is a better way for your dog.
