Ask a question about this product.
These heavy-duty wire muzzles are imported from Germany. This muzzle is a top quality product, unlike anything available in the United States.
This is an excellent muzzle for people who have dominant dogs. These dogs need a muzzle to protect the handler during compulsive obedience training.
This muzzle allows excellent airflow and seems to be the type of muzzle that dogs notice the least while wearing. There is enough room for the dog to drink with the muzzle on, but it is suggested that you 'teach' your dog it is ok to put the muzzle into the water bowl or bucket.
The major difference between this Rottweiler Wire Basket Muzzle and our standard wire basket is the third (forehead) strap.
I would not recommend this muzzle for police service bite work training. If you want a muzzle to proof your bite work you would be better advised to use our Police style leather muzzle. These wire muzzles would be appropriate in police service work for a dog to wear as a daily safety muzzle. In fact, because of the excellent air flow this muzzle is actually better than the basket muzzles for daily wear.

Several years ago you sold me a muzzle for my GSD. I needed help with the sizing, and you guys were great. Well, it has been about 5 years now, and this muzzle has withstood the test of time.
With your help we managed to achieve a perfect fit. I will let you know if I need help with my next muzzle fitting.
This muzzle was a great purchase and has seen a lot of use. You really can't beat a properly fitted and comfortable muzzle. Here's a picture of my GSD girl so you can see (BTW her nose is *not* squished against the end, it is just very close...)
Thanks again for your help,
Sarah

This letter is long over due and I hope you add it to your discussion page about dog fights. There is no one out there that tells it the way it really is other than you. Please keep up the spirit and commitment to the dog world that you have. For those of you out there that think Ed is the big bad wolf you should realize, gray does not exist in Ed's world and neither does it exist in your dogs.
I own two of Ed's dogs Ulanda Vom Leerburg "Kitara" and Janna Vom Leerburg "Madeline." I have owned GSD all my life or at least I thought I did till I became a true Leerburg follower. Kit is my personal dog and is trained in personal protection. She will swallow any part of your body and not let go till commanded. Madeline is my wife's dog and she too is the same; her hold is weaker but her rush will stop your heart.
Well, everything was fine till Madeline turned two, then the s**t hit the fan. Oh, did I not say these are both female dogs, sorry. Madeline would always submit to Kit and the fight was relatively easy to break up. Well Mad Dog Madeline turned two and decided it was time to fight back. Breaking these fights up became increasingly harder. Kit was not about to back down and Madeline would not give up. Needless to say I tried everything, all types of muzzles, and none of them worked or would be tolerated buy Kit. She, by the way, is my fight picker and was the one I tried to control. Given the fact she spends 24 hours of the day with me and is bonded like Velcro, she is the one needing restraint. Yes, she does think she is my beta, however she will work for my wife, but not with the same edge.
So my good wife says one day, "Have you been to Leerburg's site recently?" I hadn't so she says, "Check out the addition to the dog bite-fight section." So, like a dutiful husband I go, well there are the stories and a picture of the most perfect muzzle you could ever want. Kitara wears hers with great contentment and our life has gone from three dog fights a week to none.
The point of this whole letter is for you guys out there that are like me, and not wanting to disarm your dog, these muzzles are the best. Teach your dog to drink and eat with it on. Now when I say eat I mean feed them a few biscuits through the edge wire. This way they are not concerned with it being a death sentence to wear. We do have a few scuffles every now and then, but Madeline being the gracious omega that she is. Now not getting tagged and ripped she won't return the aggression by biting back. Interesting isn't it Ed? Madeline is much softer than Kit and is not interested in taking over Kit's spot in the pack order.
Another point I might add is before both dogs roamed the house free at night. Now we crate Madeline and un muzzle Kit and she rooms free. God help the sob that breaks in and gets tagged by her.
Well that about ends my story. Thanks to Ed and Leerburg's web site peace has been restored to my life. Until the day I die will own one of Leerburg's dogs. They make all the rest seem.....well, kind of dumb. I had my girls to the vets the other day and the vet remarked she had never seen such a perfect example of the breed. Keep it up Ed you make us all very proud dog owners.

On 11/22 your helpful Telephone Person listened to my Standard Poodle's muzzle measurements and suggested Cocker and Bull Terrier wire muzzles
Both fit perfectly. So perfectly that Benedict, my SP, accepted both without fuss, and has been wearing them -- one at a time -- also without fuss. (Yes, he is a tolerant dog, but he HATED the Halti.)
Although Benedict has tried to munch his way around the house wearing the muzzle, so far he has not picked up anything to precipitate another culinary disaster.
Thanks!

I wanted to write you and tell you how satisfied I am with your chrome basket muzzles. I have a dog that used to be very aggressive towards other animals and people. I was working her in a muzzle in public with limited success, because she was too busy trying to get out of the muzzle. I tried every muzzle on the market, and none worked. They irritated her too much, and she fought constantly. Finally, a friend recommended your chrome muzzle, so I ordered one. To my surprise, she accepted it right away, and never tried to fight it. It is relay comfort abel for her to wear for long periods of time, and can even drink with it on, and eat training treats (freeze dried chicken). I hope that you continue to offer such quality products at such great prices.
Thank you,
Sequoia Kennel

Ed,
We received the wire-basket muzzle recently. What a terrific product. It took Luger only a few hours to get used to it. He is very comfortable wearing it and takes naps often with it on and seems very relaxed. I highly recommend this product. Its worth every penny.

Hello Mr. Frawley,
Yesterday I received the wire basket style muzzle I ordered for my large, dominant, muzzle /veterinarian hating rottweiler 'Mo.'
I put the muzzle on Mo and he didn't try to pull at it at all . In fact he didn't seem to notice that it was even on. The muzzle exceeded all my expectations and I had some high expectations for a product coming from Leerburg. The price of the muzzle was decent too. I'm sure it cost far less than stitching up the veterinarian. The true test will come when I take Mo the vet. and the good Dr. tries to examine his eyes, that always seems to set Mo off, that and coming at him with a syringe.
I have also watched the two tapes I ordered with the muzzle. Basic Dog Obedience and Building Drive Focus & Grip with Bernard Flinks. These tapes offer allot of great, easy to follow training and assessment information that I can't wait to try out. Of course I will watch the tapes another time or two just to make sure I have a firm grip on the concepts, then I will review them through out training just to make sure I'm getting it right. I think its more a matter of training me than my dog.
I've been reading through the articles on your web site and I enjoy every bit of it..... the good, the bad, and the ugly. Keep up the good work.
Best Regards,
Ray
Hello Ed,
I just received the wire cage muzzle that you recommended and you were right, it is the best muzzle that I have ever seen available (in stores or on the internet). My dog hates all the other ones I tried on him (so do I) but he would let me put this wire cage muzzle on without much fuss. And I know this is the muzzle that suits him the best (for running).
Excellent products!!! This is the third muzzle I've purchased from your company.

Hello Ed,
I received the German made muzzle I ordered from Leerburg just the other day. My male shepherd adjusted to it within a few minutes and I couldn't have been more pleased with the result. I only wish that I had the sense to order this sooner, one bite later and a few too-close-to-call attempts at attacking others; people that is. My dog wears this muzzle on all of his walks and whenever I have guests in our home. It has put my mind at ease big-time and people have remarked that they appreciate it too.
Thanks again,
ReBecca
