Product Description

K9s in the Courtroom is top-of-your-list reading for every K9 handler, trainer, supervisor and any officer who routinely works with or around law enforcement K9s. It can save you hours of courtroom time, win your drug canine cases and help prevent your department or agency from incurring thousands of dollars in liability payments. Authors Brad Smith, Jeff Barrett, Andrew Weiman, and Ted Daus have more than 100 years' worth of combined experience in law enforcement and many additional years of teaching officers about K9 training, record keeping, court testimony and litigation. They are the go to team for the information you need to know to work smart and stay safe.

What others are saying

"Thorough and timely advice from a wealth of practical experience. K9s in the Courtroom is an essential read for every handler; canine supervisor; and risk manager."

- Timothy J. Kral, ESQ., Police Defense Attorney, Los Angeles, CA

"This book addresses readers in an informal way, officer to officer, rather than sounding too 'lawyerly.'"

- Taylor S. Rahn, P.C. ABQ, New Mexico

"[The authors do] an excellent job of identifying the areas of concern that each handler and supervisor most understand to survive in the jungle known as the civil justice system."

- John M. Peters, PLC, Attorney (retired) in Michigan
