Review 1 for "The Nature of Animal Healing"

Dear Mr. Frawley:

I just wanted to thank you once again for having such an informative website. I visit your site almost on a daily basis. I love to read your questions and answer section, along with your new products that you keep adding. We switched over to Innova about 6-8 months ago. We first read about it on your site. I just read a book called "The Nature of Animal Healing" by Martin Goldstein D.V.M. I am so happy that we switched over to Innova after reading this book. To think that my dogs and cats were eating worm-infected carcasses, road kill and euphemized pets etc., is enough to make anyone absolutely sick and very angry. What really upset me was when I remembered my son, when he was young, how he crawled around the floor sometimes getting into the pet food dish and putting this in his mouth. Back then I didn't worry about it too much, because it was supposed to be this healthy food loaded with vitamins and nutrients. UGH!! The chapter on vaccines also made me angry. How can these manufacturers keep pushing these vaccines knowing they cause severe illnesses and even cancer? I called my vet to confirm the dosage of these vaccines. He complied with what the book said. A small dog, say 10pds receives a 1cc dose, as does a 150lb. dog! I always thought these vaccines were adjusted according to weight. I was wrong, but then how was I supposed to know that? What's really hard about all this, is we have been what I call "Brainwashed" into thinking our dogs need these vaccines to survive and live a healthy life. It is going to be hard for people to turn them down. I think people will always be thinking, "Did I do the right thing? Should I have gotten my pet that shot"? I will be taking blood samples and having a titer ran on them to see if they still are covered before I give any of my pets any vaccines again, with the exception of rabies, which by law we have to give. Then if necessary, I will tell my vet to adjust it according to weight and if they won't, I will find another vet who will. I was just wondering what people do in your circumstance breeding and running kennels? Do you still vaccinate as much as you used to? In my opinion the FDA needs to step in fast and start doing something about this situation. This has gone on way too long. Thanks again, for your information on Innova. Believe it or not, it lead me in the direction on nutrition, which brought this book into my life.

I agree with you that the Goldstein book is one of the best that we sell. It also opened my eyes to a lot of issues with my dogs. To answer your questions:

1- I no longer vaccinate my dogs after they have had their original puppy shot (other than Rabies – which I am not sure they need after the first vaccination)
2- I only feed my dogs meat and veggies in my kennel – I do not feed any commercial dogs food . My dogs are healthier than they have ever been.

Review 2 for "The Nature of Animal Healing"

This book is kind of like a textbook with all the academic terminology. I use it as reference. It is easy to read however it has a lot of BS in it. The most revealing of his chapters was the one where he exposes the rendering process.

The truckers that haul for those rendering plants can tell you a lot stories. I just found out that my neighbor hauls for such a plant. He said most of the stuff he hauls is for the zoos. On one of his trips he picked up a "rhino". He watched them cut it up with a chainsaw and said the hide was as thick as the boards they use for siding in buildings houses. His wife won't let him in after one of those trips unless he stops at a truck stop to shower and change clothes and leave the ones he was wearing. He has watched the process and said the fat that comes to the top goes into cosmetics (and he knows the main buyers). The bones he said go to the bottom of the vat that goes mainly to the fertilizers plants and the rest is animal food: Monkey, tigers, birds, road kill, and whatever; hides collars and whatever else they have inside or outside of them.

Mt animals get the Schultze diet now. And I intend to look into the natural food treatment for disease the Goldstein talks about.

Without all the books on a dogs health, I don't think I would have realized the importance! The pet stores and vets try and push their products and they don't care about your animal... thanks for all the info Ed!
