Me and my wife will be having a newborn here in a few months and I am wanting a dog that is trained to protect my home..I have to leave some nights and my wife and new baby will be home alone, so i want a dog that i will feel comfortable leaving them with...The dog must be great with a small child and must have some good obedience....shoot me an email if u have or no where i might be able to find something along these lines...thanks

Hi, her pedigree looks nice. My dog has some of the same dogs in his pedigree. If she is anything like my pooch she is civil, dream to handle and also pretty independent (gets on my nerves). BUT I have also seen couple of dogs with similar pedigree to be just a nicely balanced dogs that could do very nice shutzhund, but they would not handle too much pressure well. It all depends on this girl. See her, compare, talk to the trainer, set up situations where her temperament and drives will come out and you can see for yourself if she will protect your family. I really make sure that the dog is suitable for work that I pay my $$ for. Not every great dog is a great PPD. Good luck.

The owner said that she would not be good at schutz because she has no prey drive....is this something that will affect her protection.

She needs to have balance prey and fight drive.. Prey is need to case hunt, fight is "bring it on sucker". If she doesnt have any prey.. I wonder I can't even write
