My 6.5yo GSD male passed on May 1 of this year. He had been with me from age 8 weeks.

I have reached the point where I am ready for a new dog again. I have not decided whether I will start with a puppy or possbily an older rescue/adoption.

My male was from Fleischerheim kennel stock obtained from a private owner. Argos and I only did obedience training. I may want to do search and rescue training with the new dog. I am not interested in protection work and am really seeking another GSD for pet/companion/exercise and hiking.

With regards to adoption, there are some environmental factors of importance. I only list the most important factors; an adoption will need to be of a dog that can co-exist with other dogs and/or small children as I have a large network of family and friends. Of course, ultimately I am responsible for controlling the enviroment.

Please private message me with questions.

Sorry to hear about your GSD! It sounds like you should be able to find exactly what you want in a rescue, a lot of them may have the energy you want and the rescue should know their personalities as far as sociability with people/animals/kids. I think adult dogs are better to evaluate for that than puppies. Petfinder.com
