Hi,
I have a female dog- 6 yrs. She has been spayed. She has a habit of bed wetting. She has been trained on house breaking, and is a very clean dog otherwise. She never urinates or poops in the house.Only when she is asleep, she wets the bed, and feels awkward on her act, when she wakes up.
Please advise on how to stop this.
Regards Anamika

Well there are a couple possibilities...
One is that she's bed soiling. Picking up the water bowl in the evening a couple hours before bedtime often times corrects the problem.
The other possibility is that there is a medical issue either temporary like a bladder infection or permanent like from spaying that causes her to lack bladder control. Based on your description my best guess is that this is a medical issue. I would consult my vet first if it were my dog.

Hi All,
I had sent her urine specimen for examination, the results appear normal; however the vet feels that the problem exists as she cannot control her bowels which is a possibility at times in spayed dogs. But he has not suggested me the solution on how to stop this; hence posted it here if I could get some suggestions.
Thanks & Regards Anamika

Hi- My female, 6yrs, spayed, also leaks when sleeping. Her urine sample came back fine, so the vet put her on Proin. It is basically a lifetime deal. It works really well, and it is a daily tablet. I should research again, but at the time the vet wasn't aware of any negative side effects. Sue
