My 5yr old GSD/Boarder Collie (we think) will circle my wife and I and constantly bark at us when we hug/embrace/kiss...no matter where we are in the house. It is getting tiresome and annoying. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to make him stop??

Teach the dog an alternate behavior. If the dog has a place command, use it. If the dog has a down command, use it.

This is an easy situation to set up, and pleasurable ;\) , so do so, many times a day. As soon as you hug, tell the dog how you want him to behave. If you are consistent it may end up as a habit.

Welcome!

So instead of telling him to get away, tell him to lay down or something? I'll try that...many times...

And thanks for the welcome!

Toss him a treat when he sits or whatever command you give him while you are hugging. It's a nice 'treat' for all of you then. Just keep a handfull of yummy treats in your pocket all the time. You can eventually make the treats intermittant so that he doesn't know when he will get a goody.
