Hello.

Our 5 month old Rough Collie puppy eats an all natural diet.
We've noticed he has gas on a regular basis. It's not a thing that is happening all day long, but is something that we notice on a regular basis, specially if we are in a closed area like the living room. Is this normal?

Hi,

A raw diet? How long has he been on it? What does the diet consist of?

Is this still the burping that you were talking about in a previous post?

Exactly! It's the same dog.

Eats chicken necks and wings; Chicken and cow organs; Turkey; beef; ground egg shell; vegetables and fruit once in a while; vitamin E and salmon oil.

We give him 5% of his body weigh. 3 meals per day (almost swichting to 2 meals a day). Part of the meat is fresh and other part as been frozen for storage. We defrost it before giving it to him.

Oh, it's burping? Not farting?

I'd back up to poultry RMBs only, add back one item at a time, and find out which item it is.

(unless there's more detail in a previous post ... ?)

Hello Connie. It was burping when we were giving him 7,5% of his body weigh. We backed up the amount a little bit and didn't noticed burping anymore. Now, it's farting sometimes. It's not everyday. Could it be the salmon oil? It's our primary suspect now.

Are you giving fish oil every day, but the gas is not every day?

We are giving the fish oil 3-4 times a week. The gas is not everyday, but we suspect it is happening more when he gets the salmon oil. We will have to be very attentive and try to find a correlation between the two. But is it possible to be the salmon oil?

Stop the salmon oil and see what happens.
