after the puppy shots/first adult shots, i run titers. i do not get all their shots in one visit. one vaccine. 2 weeks later a different one. this is supposedly safer. more important, if your dog has an adverse reaction there is no question which vaccine caused it. i vaccinate for rabies 3 yr killed. only because state law gives me no choice. i looked up info on that. interesting stuff. the rabies vaccine was mandatory before there was ever a reported case of dogs or cats having rabies. i have heard that vaccines typically cover the dog for 7-10 years.

Hi Cindy..
I do a single killed Parvo at 9 weeks.. a Distemper/Measles at 11 weeks.. next time Parvo..next time Distemper/Measles..Then at 18 weeks I give a combo..without Lepto or Corona. I give my rabies at a year of age.. also, after the vaccine.. I give a homeopathic remedy called Thuja for 5 days following each shot. After that I give NO vaccines.. I check titers every couple years.. They have never been low.

Jody - why not do one vaccination and then check titers - rather than do so many and then check titers? I dont want to keep vaccination my dogs so much?

Cindy.. I give an eyedropper of Thuja for 5 days after vaccine..
Ed.. For my personal dogs.. I give one parvo.. one distemper measles...I am willing to take the risks with my own pup.. but for dogs that are going out to the public.. I suggest this schedule.. that way they have something to tell thier vets.. and they are not so quick to be bullied into the combo vaccines every 4 weeks. This is a schedule that alot of holistic people are on.. I suggest all my puppy classes read up on vaccinosis.. They will have to make thier own decisions.. but I am trying at least to educate them..

Jody -You are 100% right about Vets trying to bully people into too many vaccinations and not feeding an all-natural diet.I am lucky not to have that problem but I head about it ALL THE TIME.
