I was watching Maximum Exposure on spike Tv, you know the channel for men opposite lifetime, LOL.
Anyways, they showed a drunk passenger who refused to get out of his car, they sent the dog in and he dragged this guy out, then it took about 15seconds to choke the K9 off, then they flip to the guy laying there getting patched up by EMT's, hahahahaha!
Then there were two guys who were running from the cops and tried to hide in a pond. they sent in one dog and one of the suspects tried to drown the dog and was succeeding at one point. After being held underwater and treading water, that k9 locked down on one of the suspects traps (yeah up by the shoulder and neck, ouch!) and started swimming to escort the guy out. I'm sure he eventually had to transfer but they didn't show all that. His buddy tried to run and they let the second k9 go, he got about 50yrds and got brought down. I was impressed however, with that one dog being drowned and instead of fleeing he actually swam closer to the guy and engaged while treading water. It's good to know we have dogs like that in the US on patrol, would be even better if his name was vom leerburg, you know bred right here in the good ole US of A.

I've seen that one before.
Reminds me of rat hunting on a hog farm, by a lake. Some of the rats were bolting into the water. Some terriers that make a kill on rats will just crush them. The dogs that kill with a shake had to grab the rat, swim back to shore while the rat was biting them on the muzzle. Once they had their feet on the ground, then they could shake the rat.
Chris, I guarantee if I could breed a 60lb JRT, they'd do fantastic in ARS. OOPS! They already do. It's called a Mal.

Next time we do vehicle extractions with the dogs at SRT training I'll video tape it and post a link.

I had a bit of a time getting the videos to work until I defaulted to QuickTime. Realvideo doesn't seem to like the extensions...

(Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of this site other than there are K9 videos on it....so if this is someone Ed doesn't approve of, I assume the mods will take of the link.)
