Bay Area, Ca. 100 bucks. Thank you.
I will drive it up there. Just send it to me, Randy.
Kevin, I'm glad you got the help you needed: basic door behavior (for all dogs, pretty much), basic furniture behavior, and maybe a bit of unnecessary and potentially counterproductive alpha-rolling ---- but all in all, you jumped right on the problem, you got help right away, and it can be very useful to have the trainer there one-on-one to explain with your dog right there. And that's not a huge fee, either.
Good for you, and good for your dog. Let him know always that you are the leader and protector between him and the world, as mentioned earlier in the thread, and he will not perceive that he must try to fill the role. Not just at the door, but in other things too: If the dog is anxious when strangers loom over, approach, or touch him, then you will be between them and the dog (for example).
If you are a calm, in-charge, assertive leader, then the dog will not perceive that he has to try to make the rules and lead the pack.

I am definitly open to learning all methods of training to create my own. Im not for the alpha roll but at least I know about it and now I can have an opinion on it based on what I think of it and not what I hear about it. I'm glad I have a solution to my problem tho. Hopefully this will work, I will let you guys hear about my progress. Thanks for the good comments and tips people.

thx connie, that is really nice of you. When I say find a school to learn dog behavior, I meant hands on training. But I will definitly get those books to learn about that.
Thanx again Connie!
