Kiewel Working Dogs make the news again, and not in a good way......
"The department first turned to Kiewel Working Dogs when their usual supplier was out of dogs. Police first ordered three dogs, but two weren't healthy and were returned. Two replacements were received last September, but only one made the grade. When Murphy's department sought a replacement, Kiewel stopped returning their calls and didn't give a refund.
In February, Bucks County Court ordered Kiewel to pay the department $26,000, though the company didn't show up in court. That amount includes $68 a day for housing dogs that were eventually returned.
Despite the court order, the department may never see the money. An investigator couldn't find any assets belonging to the company, and Murphy said it appeared a contact at the dog-training company may have been using a fake name."

I guess all this news is beginning to affect their business... they're starting a new business of suing people! I've just been "served" with a defamation suit!
Unbelievable... anyone want to help get a class action suit going? :P

Tammy, I know that you'd have to absorb the cost of an attorney, but the "discovery" phase of a lawsuit is devastating to folks with a history of underhanded dealings, and often the suit will be dropped when it becomes apparent that it will do far more harm than good to said individual/business.

I wonder if they'll try to sue Ivan Balabanov for having a link to the TV news video of the Police Departments comments regarding their dealings with David Kiewel on his site.
Check out Ivan's page and watch the video here:

Have you actually spoken or had any dealings with David Kiewel? Because let me tell you, this fellow could sell ice cubes in Alaska. I straight out asked David, not once but several times if he planned to resell the pup he wanted from us. Unfortunately at this time there was not a wealth of information online as to other people's difficulties with the Kiewels. Before you make a blanket statement about due diligence you should find out about people's lived experiences. JMO Tammy

I ran into Kiewel when first looking for a dog-- totally novice and had NO idea what i was doing. He tried to sell me a Dobie for $18,000.00 that totally failed all her courage tests. He even sent me the test paperwork- all in another language-- and I guess thought i would not get it translated.
I do know someone that recently obtained a judgement against him. He bought a dog that was totally inappropriate for his home, and luckily got out before someone got hurt. It cost this guy a fortune, but he won.
