Herm Sprenger Curogan Fur Saver collars imported from Germany.

Short links measure 15/16 inche from end to end of link long-wise.
Long links measure 2 inches from end to end of link long-wise.

Curogan is a copper-tin-alloy with a high copper portion and some additives which make the material strong - but without any nickel. Therefore these chains avoid a discoloration of fair haired dogs. Some dogs (less than 10%) do react on Curogan with a discoloration.

A further advantage of curogan is the fact that it is absolutely free of nickel. More often nickel is responsible for allergic reactions of sensitive dogs and causes of some skin rashes.

Herm Sprenger advises that the Curogan will NOT rust because it is a copper/tin alloy and does not contain any iron, and only iron can rust. Curogan will darken and tarnish when exposed to the outdoor environment.

Thanks for a great website. Due to your very thorough description, I am confident that I will soon finally be receiving the curogan fur saver with the link size and length I need for my boy's growing neck! I have ordered from other places, but the creepy crawly feeling that what I ordered might not be exactly what I had in mind is usually borne out, unfortunately. Thanks for being thorough with your item descriptions. It's especially helpful when you are a late-night orderer! ;)

Question
Hi,

I don't know if I am wrong, but I CAN NOT put one ring through the other. Can you please advise how I am suppose to do it if it's not something wrong about the chain or its rings.

All chains that I've been using before - LIVE RING goes through DEAD RING so that chain can slide smoothly. Very simple.

Please help.

You can see instructions here:

Scroll your mouse over the tiny photos to see a visual instruction on how to “assemble” the fur saver for use. Start at the photo on the left and move your way through to the photo on your right. It is very easy to do once you have seen an example.

Follow these easy directions.

Making the fur saver collar into a round collar is very simple and does not require any tools. Simply hold each end vertically. Hold the bottom round ring horizontally and then drop the second oval ring into the round one. Let all the oval rings fall through the round one and the collar will be ready.
