Mara is a dark brown sable. She is a very very hard bitch. Her pups should only go to working homes where people have experience with working dogs.

TESTIMONIAL:

July 20, 1999

I have had Mara/Ron bitch puppy, Harlie v. Leerburg, for 4 weeks now. She is now 11 weeks old today. She is outstanding in every way. This is saying a lot coming from someone who has been an official member of USA since 1980. I started in the sport back in 1978, if my memory serves me correctly.

Harlie is the best puppy I have seen or owned since my late Gunner von der Herreneiche, SchH 3, back in 1982. This is not an overstatement. There have been many, both males and bitches.

Harlie has the most extreme drives: food drive, prey drive, fight drive and retrieval drive. I may not be defining fight drive correctly since some say that puppies don't have this drive, but this is how I perceive it. Harlie brings me all toys (i.e., stuffed toy, bite roll, plastic jug, balls, hoses, etc.) immediately back to me for more fight. She used to play with them on her own, but not anymore. She is not satisfied anymore and wants more fight. I say "fight" because she will bite me very hard and if I keep out of her reach but present myself very close by waiving my hands close to her face, she will go after each of my hands with lips curled. She does not back down. She brings me her "toys" by jumping up on me and biting in even more, hence, bringing the fight to me. I have to get stronger everyday in "playing" with her to challenge her and bring more fight to the "play" even though she is only 11 weeks old. I have a large piece of leather that I have on a string flying in the air and she runs it down full speed and jumps to get the full mouth bite. She actually flies through the air and always hangs on. I can also pick her up off the ground with her biting the leather, bite roll, etc. She plays like this with every object I have put in front of her.

Harlie will also calm down in the house and chew on a bone or when crated or kenneled. She has not gone to the bathroom in my house for over a week. Not bad for an 11 week old puppy. She also has a "sit" for a cookie.

She also has the most stable temperament. I have taken her to "safe" places until I get more shots for her. I have taken her to the vets, neighbors, office with many people, cabin in mountains and to training with the club on personal property. She has not missed a step ever. She greets everyone with a big jump and wants to follow anyone walking away.

I am impressed everyday as she grows. It is so much fun to finally have a nice pup. Thanks a million.

With absolute sincerity,
Linda Jackson
