Question:

I'm getting a new puppy and I'll have lots of time to spend with him. How much time should I spend on training each day as he grows up?

Answer:

Training time is dictated by the puppy and his enthusiasm and attention span. It's always better to keep things short and fun and resist the urge to do “one more” repetition. A few minutes 2- 3 times daily is much better than 10 minutes once a day. You have to evaluate the puppy once you get him and then you'll also find there are certain times of the day he's more dialed in to training (usually before meals is a good time).
