Call name Deja vu Copyright 1998
I just wanted to write a note to let you know how one of your pup is doing. Her name is Freya Vom Leerburg. We call her Deja vu. I wanted to try search and rescue with her and am proud to say we have recently passed our final certification to become operational. She is doing very well and we anxiously await our first search as a K9 team. We have worked long and hard. Deja has had work through my novice mistakes. The fact that we are now a working team proves what a wonderful dog she is. We plan to continue working toward the more advanced certifications. Sincerely,
Here is a photo of us working at the World Trade Center Recovery Operation on Staten Island. We were tasked with locating human remains in the rubble that was trucked to the Fresh Kills Landfill. We were successful at our job. Thank you for a great dog and best friend.
Call name Cali Copyright 1998
Dear Ed Cali seems to be thriving. She was 5 1/2 months and about 45 pounds when the pictures were taken. Again, she continues to behave as you "advertised." Although she still refuses to sit still and watch your training tapes, otherwise she is responding to the training very well and is a lot of fun. She is scheduled to be spayed next week. We have very mixed emotions about that but are not equipped to deal with a litter. There are a lot of people out here who go over to the animal shelters and get dogs which they are very happy with. We will leave the breeding to experts like you. All the best,
Cali (Menomonie vom Leerburg) is 16 months and about 65 lbs. She has been healthy and very well taken care of. She gets plenty of bike rides at her own pace and lots of beach walks and weekend trails walks. She loves to "work" and could use more of that but I would rather have fun with her than work with her. I wish there was an agility facility somewhere within 25 miles but nearest I've heard of is San Jose, about 35 miles. We couldn't be happier with her. All the best to you and all the good people at Leerburg this New Year. Very truly yours

Stie is a very beautiful dog with ears that stand high. Thanks for sending an excellent choice. Thanks Paul Taylor Call name Elke Copyright 1998
Call name Simba Copyright 1998
Simba won SchH I on June 27, 1998. Jerry and Simba scores were low on trial day, however heat index was 105! There were 4 SCH dogs entered, Simba was the only one to pass all phases. Jerry was real proud! Tracking -74, Obedience- 86, Protection- 83,total-243("a"). Jerry was on his 3rd "out", Simba does love protection.
Anne Marie Chaffin was the first "official" trail as a USA, first woman judge. She did a great job! Simba received his Sch II title on 1-30-99 at the Florida trials. His scores were 97-90-97. I've been told by many big names in the sport this dog is national caliber. Simba receiver his IPO III. Owner is Carla Smith-Garcia Copyright 1998
Training Hawk in the picture is Randy Rhodes (helper); working a back line is Wolfgang Rader (from Germany); praising Hawk is Carla Smith-Garcia (handler.) Randy says, Hawk is a strong dog with excellent protection drives. He has a full and hard grip. Hawk comes to the protection field with a strong fighting desire for the man.
Four year old Hawk Vom Leerburg,SchH I, earned his Schutzhund I title at O.G. Landseite Schutzhund Club under SV Judge Vic Wims with a Score of 100, 85, and 99 (pronounced) on 9-12-98.

Hi Ed - Have to brag! Katja (Ida x Orfey) got her Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers Agility titles today. So along with her TD and CD that makes her a VCD1. I'm not sure I'll believe it until I see the AKC certificate, but we are on cloud nine. Especially since there are no more agility trials in our area until September. We'll spend the summer (hot in Florida) trying to get her to competition level in herding and will start working toward her BH. Meanwhile we continue to work on her TDX, VST and CDX. Oh and now her Open agility titles too. Phew it sounds like a lot - but she just eats it up. Thanks again for my 'super puppy' - Chris
