Harry's comments:
Dear Ed,
As you realize I am very pleased with Condor and have long term training goals for him. I hope to qualify for the Canadian team and compete in the World Championships in 1998. He is a long term project and I don't believe I have come close to tapping his full potential. He is certainly taxing my abilities.
Here are a few of Condors accomplishments:
- 18 months - FH with 96 points
- 28 months - 11th place Canadian Nationals
- 37 months - Canadian Atlantic Regional Champion
- 40 Months - 3rd Place Canadian Nationals
- 42 months - 2nd place New England Regional Schutzhund Championships
Condor trains with Mike Pinksten at Olympai Kennels in New Hampshire. Only a few people can handle the protection work on a dog like Condor and Mike has been very helpfull.

Next year will be a busy year. The North Americans (in Bangor Maine), Canadian Atlanitc, Canadian Nationals, Worlds if we can qualify, New England Regional and USA Nationals. So far Condor has been healthy and bulletproof. Hoepfully he can make it through next year without injury.
Sincerely
Harold Alexander (halex@bell.mma.edu)

Condor is a son of my stud dog Orfey v. haus Antwepa and my female Sausha. You can see pedigrees of these dogs by going to the kennel page on my site.

WUSV-WELTMEISTERSCHAFT: A Personal Experience by Harry Alexander
November 20, 2000
Ed,
I just received your latest catalog it looks good, but it also reminded me that I should bring you up to date on Condor.
I don't know if you knew but I qualified, with Condor, for the Canadian World's team once more. I showed Condor, at the Weltmeisterschaft in Belgium at the end of September. He was hurt with what I thought was a pulled hamstring. He showed pretty good (86/87/89) but he had been working very well. His concentration was off. After I returned home for a week he had an acute abdominal attack in the middle of the night. I rushed him to the vet but nothing obvious showed up. They treated him for pain but said that there was something wrong inside and advised I take him to a vet college for more advanced diagnosis. He was diagnosed with an near totally torqued spleen which had to be removed. The gut lining was also torn. The whole mess was scared so they figured it was several months old! He is fine now - very energetic and very strong. I've retired him now. He doesn't owe me anything. He was 23 times SchH III, FH, and represented Canada at the Weltmeisterschaft twice. He is 6 1/2 now and great pet. I hope he will be around for awhile. Thanks for such a good dog.
I am training a young female for Mike Pinksten now. She is a good dog and I scored well with her SchH I (286) but I don't have much fun training her. I'll plan to finish her SchH III and see how she scores.
Thanks again,
Harry Alexander

Mark is also the owner of OTCh Arris vom Leerburg UD TD Brevet. He is an excellent trainer and the type of person every breeder loves to sell dogs to. Mark is the perfect example of the fact that the breeder is only 1/2 of the equation. Without people like Mark (that go the extra mile in training), we breeders would never have a feel for the type of dogs we produce or their potential. Nora Vom Leerburg won the "Obedience Trial Champion" OTCh in 1996. OTCh stands for "obedience trial champion" UD is "Utility Dog" and TD is "Tracking Dog."
Marks kennel name is Schäferhafen Kennels.

Joe bought Lugar as a puppy and has done a great job with his training. This is a perfect example of what can happen when a handler gets a good dog and is willing to do the training. This is the perfect example of what is possible between a partnership with the breeder and a trainer.

Robert holds a chair on the legislative committee of the United Schutzhund clubs of America.

Sulla is a dog I got from you. He is everything I want in a dog. His sire is Olex v. Rosenberg (Joanne Plumb) and mother a Natan daughter that you sent to Fidelco Guide Dogs in Conneticut.
Sulla took his Sch III at Carthage, Texas on May 25, 1996. He was just shy of three years old. His hips are Good+. That is Dr. Krug (Mary Coppages employer) says they are not quite exellent, but cetainly tight as a drum.
I have been around GSDs for about five years. I have yet to see a dog I would be happier with than the one you sent me. He is loving, and very, very serious. His temperment is very dominant, mischevious, and I would not trade him for any other dog. Again, my compliments on your highly developed breeding program.
I wholly endorse your breeding program and its results. In the picture your dog is on the bottom. Once again thanck you for the fine dog he has really been and will continue tio be a joy in my life.
Sincerely,
Robert

Ringo has one leg towards his AKC agility title, one leg towards his CD, score 190.5 second place in VA Beach, VA on April 26, 1998, and his Sch B, which he obtained in Raleigh, N.C. in February 1998. Rick reports Ringo will have his CD, agility title and Sch 1 by the end of the year! Rick's website is www.coastaldog.com.

Ringo received his Sch 1 on December 6, 1998, at the Greater Washington DC Schutzhund Club Trail. His scores were 84/77/80. He walked right over the 2nd article, in tracking, and the judge said he lost 10 points. Too bad.
Now Ringo has the following: His B and Sch 1. Two legs from his CD, AKC, with 2nd and 4th place and high GSD in trial. One leg towards his AKC Agility Title.
March 1999 Ringo received his C.D. at the Richmond, VA show. His score was 193.
