I have a few questions about search and rescue...

Full Question:
Cindy,

I found what I was looking for on the commands, thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

I have a few questions for you about search and rescue, and I ask only in that it appears that in the Q&A sections some of the post are older and I figure you have newer information available.

1. With the many years of experience you and Ed have, who has the best trained dogs for search and rescue? In this respect I am asking about organizations, groups or countries.
2. On the subject of search and rescue, besides the videos, who or what recommendations do you have for reading about the subject to educate the beginner.
3. And finally in what order do you recommend getting your videos for training in search and rescue?

Thanks again for all your help.

Cindy Cindy's Answer:
I’m afraid we don’t have any recommendations on SAR organizations. This isn’t something we are personally involved in so it would be impossible for me to give you a referral. You may want to join our forum and ask there. There are some active SAR trainers on our forum.

For starting a SAR dog, it’s very similar to starting any other working puppy. You want a confident puppy that has good play and food drive.

Here are my recommendations:

Raising a Working Puppy
Competition Tracking
Your Puppy 8 weeks to 8 Months
The Power of Training Dogs with Food
The Power of Playing Tug with your Dog

I hope this helps.
