My very first dog was a German Shepherd, Shana Madel Sam, CD who came from Puppy Palace (Pet Shop).

Having grown up in Manhattan where many apartment houses did not allow dogs, I had to wait for my 26th birthday to get my first dog. 

We had Sam approximately 2 years when I was cooking breakfast on a 4th of July Weekend. I walked out of the kitchen for a moment and Sam started running up and down the hall barking. There were flames shooting out of the frying pan and the kitchen cabinet had just begun to smolder. Fortunately we had a small fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

Sam definitely saved our lives and our house from serious damage. She also taught be a lot about dogs and German Shepherds which we have until this day.
