Is the United Schutzhund Clubs of America a German Shepard organization or is it an all breed schutzhund organization?? The web site heralds for the German Shepard Dog but local clubs run Rots, Pit Bulls, etc .. How can they claim to be the end all for German Shepards when they run all breed?? Isn't the GSDCA-WDA the German Shepard only organization in reality?? The DVG is the oldest organization isn't it?? The DVG has gone all breed too has it not at least in the USA?? When I look at the USA clubs in my area they are run like fiefdoms.

.... if you don't like a club don't join or go to their events. Seems rather simple.

I'm sorry, pet peeve of mine -- it's German Shepherd Dog, not Shepard.
Schutzhund is first and foremost a breed suitability test for the GSD; thus that is UScA's mission. But, I believe, recognizing that other breeds can and do enjoy training and competing in the sport, they recognize all-breed membership and participation.
UScA hosts a National Championship for the GSD and partners with AWDF for a National All-breed Championship.

Sorry about the spelling, I know the correct spelling. So your answer is that UScA is a mixed breed organization then and not devoted to the German Shepherd breed exclusively .. that is what I have observed around NC where I live. So UScA is inclusive of all dog breeds but exclusive of owners or handlers holding dual or triple memberships in USA, DVG, and GSDCA-WDA. UScA should remove the claim of being the protector of the German Shepherd blood line if it is an all breed organization. From what I can see UScA is about controlling schutzhund sport in the USA more than about the German Shepherd breed.

What I don't like is UScA calling itself "For the German Shepherd Dog" and running pit bulls in their trials. The UScA is for Schutzhund but it is all breed so call it what it is. As far as I can tell the only pure German Shepherd organization doing Schutzhund is the GSDCA-WDA which is where I am going to join. The conflict of interest I see is the use of resources and time to train other breeds if the aim is to advance the GSD. If the aim is to have as many members as possible and as many clubs as possible then all breed Schutzhund makes sense but that is not devoting the organization to the advancment of the GSD breed as claimed on the web site for UScA. You can put white stripes on a donkey but that won't make it a zebra.

Not sure how to break the news to you but I can take my Rottie to a WDA trial for a title. There are many breeds working in different WDA clubs just as there are in the USA.
The only competing organization that the USA considers is the GSDCA and WDA. The latest by-laws change disallowing membership in the GSDCA/WDA and the USA at the same time is stupid on so many levels I can't begin to count the ways.

UScA is "For the German Shepherd Dog" because they follow the FCI breed standard for the GSD.
GSDCA-WDA is under the umbrella of the AKC and the AKC does not follow the international breed standard for the GSD.
Personnel and politics of the organizations aside, that's a decision-maker for me.
