My latest DVD -just released – Hiking With Your Dog

On Thursday (June9th, 2017) I finished the production on my latest training DVD – HIKING WITH YOUR DOG. I am prejudice but I think it’s really good, going to help a lot of people who want to hike with their dogs. We probably won’t have it ready to ship until the end of next week – below is the written script for the web page (which isn’t even made yet). I think what we will do is have free shipping for the release and a $10.00 – 10 day discount – the regular price will be $45.00 and it’s 1 hr and 37 mn long.

The goal of this video is to share our extensive experience on hiking with our dogs. Most days Cindy hikes 2 to 6 miles with her dogs, she has been doing this for over 30 years. She hikes in urban, suburban and rural locations.

Our video goes into a great deal of detail on how to chose a hiking location that fits your dogs abilities. Considerations need to be made for your dogs physical ability; training level; and the distractions you are likely to meet on any given hike.

While we expect our dogs to be under “100% control 100% of the time”, we also want our hikes to be enjoyable for both us and our dogs. Our video provides information both new and experienced dog owners should know to make that happen.

The video explains how we handle the various distractions encountered on our hikes. Some of those include bikers; joggers; other on and off leash dogs; both predators and prey animals and more. The video explains how we deal with these various distractions. What we do depends on the experience level of the dogs we are hiking with. We demonstrate our options.

There are very specific skills we want our dogs to learn so our hikes remain stress-free and enjoyable. We go into detail and demonstrate exactly what those skills are.
One of the things new trainers will learn is how Cindy turns distractions into short, fun, engagement exercises and games that help our dogs ignore distractions.

We have a segment on hiking with multiple dogs. This segment covers how we safely introduce a new puppy (or dog) into hikes with our other dogs (we have 5 dogs).

When done correctly, hiking with your dog can become something both you and your dog enjoy and look forward to.
