Loki is a bi-color medium size female that is a littermate to my old police dog Rabiat. Rabiat and Loki are offspring of another one of my police dogs, Otis. Otis was a son of Mink Haus Wittfeld - one of Germany's top hip producers. Otis is known for the working ability of the dogs he produced.

Ed,
I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how impressed I am with Ludolph “Ludo.” I have delayed this email because I wanted to have plenty of time working with the dog to be able to give you a genuine opinion of him. When I first began looking into breeders on the Internet I was, understandably, skeptical of purchasing a dog in this way. I must say however that Ludo has met and exceeded all of my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with him.

I’d like to fill you in on the work that I have been doing with him so far and how I intend to proceed with his training. During the imprinting stage I have focused mainly on socialization, encouraging prey drive, and exposing him to many different environments. My secondary emphasis has been basic obedience, tracking, and agility. I could go on and on raving about him but some of the things I wanted to bring to you attention are his incredibly strong nerves and his amazing adaptability to all of the environments he has been exposed to. I noticed the first day he arrived that he walked on lead very nicely and took to swimming immediately (after all he does live with a lab who was more than happy to teach him the ropes when it came to the water). My intention with Ludo is to first train him in Schutzhund. There are two separate Schutzhund organizations in Spokane. I checked them both out and decided to go with the DVG affiliated group as opposed to Schutzhund USA. Once he has received his Schutzhund I, I am seriously considering training him to do search and rescue work and Schutzhund simultaneously. Initially I was unsure if this would be a possibility as I wouldn’t want SAR work (airscenting) to compromise his Schutzhund training. However, I have learned that with the correct training Ludo could potentially be exceptional at both.

I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to you for providing me with the most incredible dog I have ever owned. I have no doubt that he will continue to excel and become yet another fine example of the superior German Shepherds you breed. Thank you again and I will keep you updated on Ludo’s progress.

Ed, just thought I'd send you a note to let you know how ZEE a Loki/Ron pup is doing, and to thank you for such a wonderful dog. At 12 weeks he is already housebroke, knows pfui, and far enough, barks on command. He sits and downs for food on the training table. When you say your pups are more mouthy that was an understatement. He has learned to be mouthy on his toys instead of us though. My dog trainer who also has one of your dogs is very impressed with Zee. He says you are so great at choosing the correct dog for the people and I'm also a believer. I also have a female from Jerland in Wisc., she was nothing, is nothing like this pup. Thanks again for such a wonderful dog and for taking the time to show us your kennel and dogs when we picked Zee up. I know Zee is going to make a great competion obedience dog with his great drive, willingness to learn and please, I'll let you know when he gets any titles.

Thanks: JULIE YOREK

I am extremely impressed with my Loki-Ron puppy. Lakota-Apollo von Leerburg Call name Apollo. He did well traveling from your kennel to Norfolk. I took him to the vet for a check up and a bordatella nasal spray. She was also impressed with the quality of your dogs. Apollo is just great. He has a prey drive that makes an alligator look toothless. He has been adapting to his new surroundings and bonding well to me. Because of my crazy work schedule I have had to place him in doggy day care. I saw him play tug of war with an adult Great Dane and win. I was truly amazed at that sight he is going to be something special as he gets older. He also during the first night saw a rat and his ears went up and he growled and barked at the rat. All this dog at just 10 weeks old.

Thanks
LT Jeffrey Clark

Dear Ed:

Just a short update regarding Razzia. Next month she will be eight months old and progressing well. I've been doing obedience, puppy bite work, & nothing but positive reinforcement/food reward. She is absolutely the best dog I've ever had the experience of working with. She is highly driven & goes at everything with such enthusiasm & speed. I can't say enough about her prey drive & retrieving ability, in short I commend you on your breeding program & would not hesitate to purchase another Leerburg shepherd or recommend your kennel.

(Joe owns a Loki/Utz female)
Sincerely,
Joe Worsham
