Sausha is a black and deep red bitch. She is now retired from the Leerburg breeding program (she is close to 12 yrs old - and looks 7 or 8). She was one of our best brood bitches over the years. We bred her a number of times and she never gave us one bad hip. She has an extremly stable temperament that everyone loves. She did solid personal protection work. She is excellent with kids and loves a ball. One of her sons is a dual purpose narcotics patrol dog on my sheriff department.

Sausha was born in America but is 100% German bloodlines. Her mother (Blanka) was the DVG National Schutzhund Champion in 1986. Balanka's full brother was the 1982 DVG National Champion. Blanka representative the United States that year in Germany and placed third in the DVG Miesterschaft. Blanka's sire is Enno Antrefftal. Enno was the 1974 German Bundessieger (German National Schutzhund champion for the SV). Enno produced many many super working dogs. The 1976 and 1978 Bundessiegers were Enno sons.

This solid working pedigree produced a number of working dogs. All had excellent drive. The dogs were very hard in temperament. By this I mean that they were not sensitive dogs to a correction, they did not tuck their tails and act like you killed them when they got a correction. I personally hate this in a dog, it leaves litter room for handler error in corrections. That was never the case with the Sausha puppies. The sad thing from a breeding program aspect is that dogs are with us for such a short time and in this case I should have kept more of her females for breeding.

One of my Saushas-Orfey sons took 3rd place in the Canadain National Sch 3 Championships in 1997. The dog is owned by Bill Alexander. You can see his photo in the list of Leerburg customers.
