Karla vom Leerburg
Leerburg Brood Bitch
Call Name Spy
DOB 7-28-01
OFA Good
Spy is a drivey, medium size, 4 year old female with dark black and tan pigment. She shows excellent gripping behavior, extreme prey drive and focus. Her food drive is exceptional!
Spy has been trained according to the Flink's videos and worked in our October 2003 seminar with one of our kennel employees (Angie)...Bernhard was very complimentary to both of them, Spy is a natural and Angie did an excellent job with her in a very short time. Bernhard rated her grip as a level 8 (on a scale of 1-10 and he never rates a dog 10!)
Spy is line bred on my old police dog Otis. Otis was a son of Mink Haus Whitfeld - one of Germany's top hip producers. Otis is known for the working ability of the dogs he produced. I repeated the Otis-Jenny breeding (Spy's mother) three times.
Spy has been raised as a house dog and is comfortable in a crate or kennel as well. She would make an excellent sport prospect or as an addition to your breeding program.
Spy has produced two beautiful litters of pups for Leerburg (see photos of some of her puppies below) and holds the black recessive.

Leerburg Puppy Customer Testimonial:
January 23, 2004 ~ Spy/Aiko Male Pup ~ DOB 11/14/03
Thank you, so much, Cindy, for choosing this puppy for me. You told me you liked 'that sparkle in his eye', but it is hard to compare it with anything until I saw the look for myself. His self confidence is so striking and full of promise. I love his strong, chunky body, and his head is extraordinary. And, he is so affectionate!
We've just had a simply wonderful play session, and he's sound asleep. I'm taking all the precautions with my other animals, but I can tell the whole process is going to be rewarding. My way is to ask a lot of questions, and I thank you for all of your time.
Ed has done such valuable things for the German shepherd working dog, and I wish you great success and happiness in heading his breeding program.
Sincerely,
Carol Drummond

Hello, Ed:
I just love this dog. His call name is Lobo, and he is everything and more than you said he would be. I am so glad you advised me not to neuter him, because I have never known a more gentle dog. His standard greeting is a lick with his long, pink tongue, and yet he is fully capable of asserting himself.
You also have a picture of Lobo on Aiko's page, but it identifies him as an Aiko pup. The day I took that picture is the day I first understood what you meant by a genetic full mouth.
As you can see, he still chews that way. Sorry for the graphic
picture of him chewing a chicken leg. I raise his food here, and
this was a chicken I had just slaughtered. It was a sure way to
get him to stand still so I could get a good shot of his head--which
is magnificent.
People have asked if he was a purebred simply because his head
is so large.
I just love the way he learns. I have a female who is quite bright
but is very high energy and not nearly as dependable. Once Lobo
learns something, he remembers the steps and the order of the steps,
even as I increase the distraction. He is so eager to learn and
please, so he is
a joy to train. The only difficulty I have ever had is in convincing
him that, yes, he really does have to work before he gets the food.
Thank you so much for a quality breeding program. I was sorry to see Aiko off the stud list because he obviously produces spectacular offspring. If you want more pictures as he fills out, let me know.
Sincerely,
Carol Drummond
