Question: Is it ok to feed my dog late at night before bedtime?

I have been feeding my 10 month old GSD kibble 2x per day.
I am switching him to raw.  Coincidentally, my schedule is changing. I am a police officer and I'll be working 3pm - 11pm.  Is it OK to feed him late at night before bedtime? I would like to feed him before and after work but is this a bad idea?

Dogs are adaptable, put him on a schedule that works for the both of you. I don’t see why it would be a problem to feed him before bedtime.

Question: Where should I begin to learn about tracking?

I have recently become interested in tracking dogs. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.  How should I begin?  What type of dog is most suited for search and rescue? I am too old for police tracking and most important too uneducated in this field.  Please let me know when you have time.

For tracking, I’d recommend Competition tracking.

This is the foundation of ALL tracking training.

The dog best suited for this are usually sporting, working or herding dogs with strong food and play drive. You will want a dog that has a strong desire to play tug, as that is typically the reward that will be used in training.

You can also search our website for more info on tracking,  the search function is located in the upper left corner of every page of the website.

I hope this helps.

Videos were recommended from my conformation handler who has converted me over to non-conformation dogs! Amazing website; really appreciate the amount of information that you've made available.

Hello Cindy!

Just wanted to send you a note of thanks for recommending synflex for my bernese mountain dog. I've been giving it to her for a month now (along with salmon oil, and vitamin e) and she seems to be doing well! She even walks a mile with me in the evening - voluntarily! I just ordered 2 more bottles.
