Hurtta Polar Vest

Hurtta Polar Vest

The Polar Vest is a soft and warm high-visibility vest that yields to the dog's movement. This close-fitting model protects the dog's rib cage and keeps it dry. The vest is made from rustle-free Softshell fabric with a laminated water-resistant Houndtex layer. The product is ideal for sporting activity, hunting and daily walks. The inherent warmth of the product does not recommend it for summer use. A tag around the neck has space for the owner's telephone number.

Leerburg Q&A
Ask your training question

Question: Can I use the pager/vibrate feature on your ecollars as a clicker?

Can I use the pager/vibrate feature on your ecollars as a clicker?

Thank you in advance.

Cindy's Response:

Yes, you can use the pager as a clicker if you wish. Many people do, you simply pair the pager with a primary reinforcer like food.

On Leerburg's How to Break up a Dog Fight Video

Hi Cindy,

I want to say thank you to Ed for putting together the video on how to breakup a dog fight safely. I watched the video some time ago. Because, I am a dog owner, I thought the video might be helpful. I never thought I would have to really ever use the techniques, but boy was I wrong.

I was in the parking lot of my veterinarian's office (Monday) and just put my German Shepherd puppy into the truck when I heard a blood curtailing scream from a woman across the parking lot. I turned to see what was going on. I saw a huge pit-bull off lead running across the parking lot straight towards her and her German Shepherd that was on a leash. The German Shepherd started circling around the handler, and completely wrapped the leash around the woman's legs. The pit-bull started attacking the German Shepherd and the woman. I ran and grabbed the pit bull's hind legs and ran backwards dragging the dog. This dog was powerful, and I myself am not a big woman, but I was able to get the dog off of the attack, dragging it backwards till other people rushed out of the vet's office and subdued the pit bull.

By posting this technique on line, you provided me with the knowledge to help someone in real trouble, and for this I want to thank you.
