Question
My new puppy really isn’t into his food and will only eat it if it’s soaked with water. Do you know why this is happening?
Answer
If I was going to feed kibble I would absolutely soak it for 30 minutes or more even if the dog would eat it dry. Since your puppy will eat it soaked I would continue to do so, it's actually the best
option for feeding dry food.
I feed raw personally, but I always suggest that owners that feed kibble soak it due to the fact that it's easier for the dogs to eat, easier to digest, and helps combat dehydration. Raw has a lot of
moisture in it but kibble can actually keep dogs in a state of dehydration unless it's soaked for a while before feeding.
