QUESTION:
My 9 week old Rottweiler puppy’s biting of hands and feet is getting more intense, how should I control this?
ANSWER:
If you haven't watched Raising Your Puppy with Michael Ellis I would definitely recommend it. It's about 7 hours of info on how to raise a puppy without squishing their drive and ability to be a working partner. A lot
of puppies do the behavior you mention in the evening, it's like a toddler that is overly tired and wound up. I usually put my pups in a crate or expen when they get like this. Trying to calm them down is usually
NOT successful, you simply have to scoop them up and put them somewhere that prevents them from continuing. Puppy raising is mostly about preventing them from practicing the wrong thing.
