Our dog is a relentless counter surfer, what can we do to address this?
Answer
It sounds like since he has learned to work through barriers you have limited your options. If he gets rewarded with any food at all even once out of 50 attempts this only strengthens this behavior. If I owned a dog
like this he would be contained in an escape-proof kennel or crate when I couldn't supervise him 100% of the time and he'd be on leash with me when I was home so I could supervise and correct him for this.
