Question
My dog loves to be chased, it’s her favorite game. Is it possible to build a strong recall with a dog that enjoys running away from you? Can I use this to my advantage?
Answer
I think using restrained recalls so the dog finds chasing YOU more reinforcing would be my choice. For some dogs, the chase game (where you chase them) is fine especially if you only play it in certain environments like an enclosed space but if you have
any issues with a recall at all I would not chase the dog in play.
