Since we are going to be facing a banner tick year I figured I would probably have to dose every month instead of ever 2-3 months like I normally get away with.
Anyone know how to get ahold of an honest to goodeness PACKAGE INSERT that details volumes and concentrations in each application and not just customer application directions?
I figured why not split Frontline like I used to split up Advantage by buying the biggest dog dose and dividing it up for both my dogs but I'll be darned if I see a volume -- as I look at the packaging it does seem designed to prevent such creative dividing into several doses ....
..anyone done this or know how to get the insert? If they are that protective of their PI, i figure maybe the concentration is even different in each applicator so equal volumes may not equal in amount of drug delivered.
not much help but my vet says it is the same product in diferrant amounts per dog weight. Just used my last ones and now I am curious as to the amounts in the doses. I would also short sheat my 60# and give a little more to my 95# instead of paying for higher doses. I think they only go up to 88# than have to also buy a smaller weight to cover. I know that the product must be used at leat every 6 weaks and that is pushing it. We live in the country of east texas and it works very well if you keep up with it. Have seen dogs not on anything that make you sick just seeing what is on them!!
I order at http://www.petshed.com .
I put everything in to one cup and use syringes to measure exactly the amount in ml that I need to apply to my dog based on his weight.
How do you make the determination of how much to apply?
What I have been unable to locate is the actual dose, or even the volume in the applicator. In the absence of a package inset specifying this information..... I did find out that the concentration is the same in all doses.
I have done this before with ivomec, advantage etc. so know how to do it but need to know how much to apply.
Nancy,
If you go to the website that I mentioned previously it has all the info there on how much to apply based on dogs weight.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
AHA the website where you order from has volumes listed; this is the first place I have seen it (guess my 50 year old eyes could not find it on the the packaging - will have to go back and look tonight)
Of course they have an interesting disclaimer about packaging and that what they sell is not legally sold in US so caveat emptor! This is one medication well known to be subject to counterfeiting
The packaging seems exactly the same as showed on those EPA regulations. I did notice on the petshed website that it said the packaging MAY not be legal in US. Anyways I will investigate more on this before I make the next order.
Well at list you got your volumes.
I imagine your packaging IS fine - there is Merial Australia with that labeling (just checked) I would say the prices you have are the best I have seen anywhere.
