Product Description
Want to try dock diving with your dog but no idea where to start? Leerburg and The Dog Tank will be presenting a 3 week class teaching everything you need to know about the sport. The class will be conducted 1 night per week for 1 hour. Additional practice time will also be offered to all students at a discounted rate through the duration of the class.
The class will focus on swimming in a pool (which contrary to common belief is not the same as jumping off the dock at the cabin), finding and mastering the exit ramp, and finally jumping off the dock. The class will be tailored for each individual dog and handler, regardless of your dogs experience level. We will progress the training at each dog's individual pace. Students will see a variety of dogs of all breeds and capabilities. This class will not only train your dog, it will also teach you how to be a better handler in any situation. Students who are bringing their dog to the pool for the very first time will be able to watch the training of the more advanced dogs and learn where and how to progress after the class is complete.
We work to facilitate a safe and positive experience for all dogs. You will be shown how to build your dog’s confidence and create a comfortable and safe environment for your dog to show his or her true potential. The beginner dogs will learn to enjoy the water and how to safely enter and exit the pool. While the dogs with more experience will work on motivation, toy play, and throwing, with the ultimate goal of extending your dogs genetic ability to soar through the air.
Steve Powell will be instructing the class. Steve owns and operates The Dog Tank pool at Leerburg's facility. He also travels the country with a portable dock setting up events for the North American Diving Dogs (NADD). This class will take full advantage of Steve's extensive competition and training experience within the sport of Dock Diving.
So, If you are looking to learn about a new sport or looking to refine your dock diving skills this is the class for you.
