I know this part of the forum has not been active in a long time. It seems that on at least a weekly basis, we hear the terribly sad news that a LEO has been killed in the line of duty, and my heart breaks for all of them. This being a dog board, and Officer Collin Rose being a skilled and respected K-9 handler, I felt it was appropriate to remember him here.

The latest news is that a suspect is in custody and has been arraigned on five felony counts.
Also, according to local news reports, Officer Rose's parents, who are from the western side of Michigan (and this incident happening in southeastern Michigan), returned to their home to find that their community was filled with blue lights to honor their son. Wayne State University has waived the final credit he needed and granted him his master's degree posthumously. He had two K-9 partners, and one has been placed with another trainer and the other will be living with Officer Rose's parents. Officer Rose's fiancée is someone who was also involved in dog training and dog rescue in the community.
Rest peacefully, Officer Rose. I did not know you personally, but your story has touched so many, and I know you will be greatly missed. Thank you for your service to your community. It is a tragedy you were taken so soon. My heart goes out to your family, friends, and coworkers.
