The material is FDA approved and free of latex, vinyl, and phthalates. It can be filled with your dog's favorite treats, and it throws, bounces, and floats in water. Made for dogs of all sizes.

Safety

No toy is 100% indestructible. It is unrealistic to expect that from any toy. The toys that we sell at Leerburg are the best quality and most durable that we have found. Always supervise your dog when playing with toys. Periodically inspect all toys for damage. Do not allow your dog to continue to play with a damaged or broken toy.

This toy is amazing!!!! I highly recommend this for dogs that like to destroy toys--this is the only toy my labs have not destroyed!

My dog, Bandit, is 1.) a super strong chewer and 2.) too smart for the Kong.

Bandit was stumped and fascinated the first time he played with The Pickle. He know the drill with the Kong - throw it, bounce it, treats come out. He tried playing with The Pickle the same way and was shocked when the treats didn't come out. I supervised him, seeing how he was problem solving to get the treats out. I used semi-soft Zuke's training treats for the first try. I don't know who was more excited, me or Bandit, when he figured how to get the treats out!!!! He is currently panting and very proud of his accomplishment.

I'm going to try treats with different textures and different challenge levels. AWESOME TOY!! LONG LIVE THE PICKLE!!!

Yes, this is a ridiculous looking thing. And sure, people are uncertain what to make of it when they come over to the house. But let me tell you - my dogs ALL LOVE THEIR PICKLE! I squish peanut butter or sour cream into the 3 deep cracks and toss it on a dog's bed, and she will go to town licking it all out. Occasionally I get some kibbles or small puppy biscuits and cram those into the cracks. It can keep the attention of any one of my dogs for at least a half hour if not longer. My Doberman and Mastiff have yet to put so much as a pockmark on this toy - it is very durable. It is a workout too as they have to hold it just right to get their tongues in the right position to get their goodies. I personally like the vanilla scent; I'm certain that I'd be less than thrilled if it came with pickle scent.... And honestly, there is something great about talking to a non-dog person and having a snorting French Bulldog waddle across the floor desperately rolling and licking at a green, gelatinous pickle!!!

My husband laughed at me when I purchased the pickle pocket toy for our dog, but he became a believer when he saw how much Jasper enjoyed playing with it. Jasper loves to throw it around and chase it. I've stuffed it with cream cheese and yogurt and froze it and it keeps him busy for a while in his crate. The vanilla smell was a little overwhelming at first, but we got used to it after a while :)
