Product Description
A professionally made leather muzzle imported directly from Germany. This muzzle is lightweight and flexible, yet very strong and reinforced with rivets. It is open enough to allow for maximum air flow and comfort for your dog while wearing it. Perfect for those trips to the vet or long walks with your dog and to use for added safety with dominant or aggressive dogs. This muzzle also has a forehead strap that runs the length of the dogs nose up between the eyes and attaches to the strap behind their head. This type of strap is very popular with dogs who don't like wearing a muzzle and for dogs with larger, wider heads.
This is not the type of muzzle to be used for muzzle fighting work with your dog.
Do not use leather conditioner on leather muzzles.

Sizing Tips & Chart
There are a few things you need to know about sizing a muzzle for your dog:
- The muzzle cannot be longer than your dog’s actual "nose length". If the muzzle is longer than your dog's nose length, the muzzle will be in the dog's line of vision.
- The muzzle's circumference must be larger than your dog's "nose circumference." We recommend between one and three inches larger than your dog's measurement. If the muzzle is the exact same size as your dog's nose, the dog won't be able to pant. It is very important that you give your dog enough room to pant while wearing the muzzle.
Size | Length | Circumference |
---|---|---|
Size 1 | 3.5" | 10" |
Size 2 | 4.25" | 13" |
Size 3 | 5" | 14.5" |
Size 4 | 5" | 15" |

Write a ReviewI watched the sizing video and e-mailed Leerburg regarding the size and they answered my questions promptly.
These are an economical choice for a comfortable, adjustable muzzle.
One thing I really like about this muzzle that is not mentioned in the description is how adjustable it is. While it has the normal adjustable strap for behind the head and a forehead strap, the side straps are also adjustable to help get a perfect fit (you can see this in the picture below).
I have two dogs with different nose lengths and got a size 2 for both. The adjustable side straps are the only reason this muzzle fits both of them great. I also was able to make additional holes (using a drill/drill bit) in the behind the head strap and forehead strap to get an even better fit.
One concern I had was the ability to give treats in this muzzle and have the dog be able to drink water. I had tried the Ultra Baskerville muzzle first because it was advertised to still be able to eat/drink; however none of the sizes were a good fit (either too small or too big) and since it was not adjustable I did not feel my dogs would be safe/comfortable wearing this muzzle. Out of the box the leather muzzle does not really allow for treat giving, but I was able to create a larger hole in the front of the muzzle by stretching the leather some (see picture below….I used a wooden kitchen spoon that had a large round handle to do this). After a few days of keeping it wedged between the front hole, there is now a nice larger hole that I can easily feed my dogs treats while they are in the muzzle. One of my dogs will also drink water while wearing the muzzle.
I highly recommend this muzzle. Given the adjustability, I feel that my dogs are safe and secure while wearing it and the leather is also comfortable enough for them to be able to wear it for an extended period of time. Make sure to take the time to train your dog to accept the muzzle; I spent a couple weeks training mine, slowly increasing time spent in the muzzle and doing various things such as giving treats, feeding dinner while wearing muzzle, doing obedience, etc.
We got this muzzle to keep her from grabbing things while we work on the "YUCK" command. The muzzle is light weight and does not seem to bother her when she has it on. I am so glad we found this muzzle so she can run and play in the yard now like other dogs.
