Product Description
These high quality stainless steel collars are going to last years longer than a chrome plated collar. They will never rust. If you want the best for your dog you can purchase one of our handmade leashes and an imported Herm Sprenger stainless steel collar. With proper care you will have training equipment that will last over 20 years.
These German fur saver collars are designed to replace normal everyday collars. Their purpose is to help eliminate the collar wearing and breaking down neck hair.
Each long link measures 2” long (or approximately 5 cm) and are 4mm thick.
Each short link measures 15/16” (or approximately 2.4 cm) and are 3mm thick.
One o-ring and all the links on the collar are measured for the size (and if it falls in between sizes we go down to the next smaller increment). Please keep in mind when you are selecting a specific size fur saver for your dog, that the collar must be big enough to slip over the dogs head and ears.

Write a ReviewI was reluctant at first, but eventually I decided to get a Herm Sprenger Stainless Steel Fur Saver - Short Link. I paid almost as much for postage as the cost of the chain. Furthermore, in my currency the total I paid for this dog collar (incl. postage) is $68.00…
But it was well worth it!
I LOVE the Herm Sprenger Fur Saver Collar.
Unlike the cheap, China made chains, the links and rings on the Herm Sprenger Fur Savers are welded together for extra strength, durability, and security. This gives me confidence and peace of mind to know that my dog is safe from a hardware malfunction, such as the chain suddenly snapping if he was to pull.
Aesthetically, the chain exudes quality. It is an appealing chain... from the engraving on the rings to the design and construction to the fluorescent orange HS brand tag for that gorgeous touch to a quality product.
Spleefy (my dog) and I have put the collar to the test in variety of environments and conditions -- from walking about the town... to the beach, rolling around and digging in the sand and splashing in the surf... and all the way to the remote part of the forest where we often go to hike, get muddy, and take a refreshing dip in the streams or deep pockets of rainwater.
In spite of our, often, rugged adventures together, the Fur Saver collar maintained its integrity, and the links consistently slide through the ring without the frustrating friction that you may get from inferior chains.
Lastly, I like the audibility of the Fur Saver chain. This makes for more effective communication with my dog than tactility alone.
I will upload a photo of Spleefy wearing his awesome Fur Saver Collar from the side view. It was an extravagant buy for a collar, but well worth the investment. I won't put a price on my dog's safety!
The collar is very attractive and should last a very long time... I do like the look of the copper/tin version, but not sure how durable they are...Perhaps someone will write a review about this one...
