I bought one of these after watching my friends dog play with theirs. My dog loves it and I love it too. It's one of those rare dog toys that last a long time and aren't expensive. I got this so my dog could have something else to chew on other than her antler but would still be safe enough to put in her crate (only 3 toys I've found have been safe enough to make the cut). But it's been so much more than that, we throw it, tug it, she shakes it, it's been great. I will definitely get another when this one wears out 4mo still going strong though.

I have a Golden Retriever who loves to chew and can chew through most anything. It took a couple a weeks for her to start liking it, as with most new toys, but is now the one she hangs on to the most. She has not been able to puncture or tear into it at all. It is a great tug-type toy in the house as well. Thank goodness for Stafe Stix! I finally found something that does not get destroyed in 2 days!

I just purchased two of these, one small and one medium. The small one was purchased for my mixed breed (about 50 lbs.) and the medium for my girlfriends lab (about 75 lbs.). The dogs loved them and I liked them because they don't bounce out of the play area like balls can do.

A neighbor wanted to try one and unfortunately started to play tug with the lab. The medium stick split in two places and it would not take much for it to be in three pieces.

I don't believe this to be a problem with the product, but an issue of it being used in a way it wasn't intended to be used.

I will most likely replace it with another, but would like to let everyone know to keep this and their dogs play habits in mind when selecting a toy.

We purchased a Safestix for our lab puppy when she was about 4 months old. It is the best outdoor toy. She loves it and will look for it every time she goes outside. It is three years old and still in great shape even though we leave it on the patio most of the time. I will buy another one to have in reserve.

Our pit mix Lucy LOVES the SafeStix! She looks for them for every walk. If she doesn't have her one of her SafeStix with her, she roots around and obsesses over downed branches, small logs and rocks. I just wish the connection point where the knobby ends are were tougher - she's slowly but surely (since March 2012) getting purchase in that area with her chewing. Eventually the knobs will be gone.
