I have only had working line GSD. Before I could Breed them "with knowing that I got done all requirements", I had to SHOW them... People with Adult GSD from Czech have Breed survey and that is the "how they show" this way they try to keep the GSD in Line and still I think they are better looking that Show line.
The question is.. What is called this Show here, is it even in the US? Thank you.
I dont think That sable working line GSD will stand a chance next to American Line...or the other way around, depends on the judge. IMO
It is like comparing apples to oranges.
Why ask a question then almost answer it yourself
Firstly I think putting working dogs around the show ring is purely a matter of personal choice, sure alot of judges are biased, prefering the show lines,so what? Find a judge thats partial to working lines, some people choose to have this type of evaluation,The fact is that colouring and construction has no bearing on the dogs ability to work.
Thank you Robert. More things I have to find out about
Michelle I went to dozens of breed shows for working line gsd and there was just a standard survey done. No runing around in patterns and so on. It was actually fun. I think that it is important that Breeders keep the look of even working line gsd. Otherwize we can end up with dogs with missing teeth and strange structure. which IMO is almost as bad as dog for show only with no drives.
HD is not the only disgualification in Slovakia/Czech. GSD is surveyed on looks, not as much as nerves and working ability, but still.Honestly they kicked me out with one of my GSD, missing tooth, bad structure and too narrow of a dog (not enough muscle). That dog worked like crazy, searved in prison, search for escaped prisoners, but no breeding material.
Michelle I could understand you wrong if so forgive me.
Sounds like your toothless wonder suited your situation
Glad you are up to speed about the standards, we do not want the breed going backwards, There are some very good working judges who give an excellent breed evaluation, altho
I am sure many may disagree, I think you may get a lot more honesty out of them, they look at the dog holistically.(In my own experience)by the way you did not "wrong" me, it was interesting reading your opinion.
