My friend has a GSD whose tail hooks upward at the tip. She carries the tail like she should but the tip has a hook shape to it.The tail does not curl over the back like a spitz, only at the tip. Is this a fault in the tail due to bad breeding or is it something common in certain types, i.e. eastern lines, working german lines, .... ?
the females carries her tail like the the solid pattern "Tru Blue" dog shown here. Is this a fault or something common to a type. She carries it low and hooked at the tip.
My friend has a male GSD from working lines that carries his tail like that, I never really thought about what caused it, but it's kinda cool in a way Be curious to see what the experienced breeders consider that to be.
NOW HEAR THIS!!!
Please *do not* post the same question in multiple threads!!
We will only have to delete one of the duplicate threads ( which I've done ), and that doesn't make us happy!
This is not considered good internet forum behavior, please do not do this again!
Did not know if it was a breeding question or general conversation question. I have enjoyed and learned a lot from this site. Let's be professional, there is a nice way to reply to someone.

I'm so glad someone brought this up. Years ago, I heard that if you have a puppy with long hairs on the tail tip, you should cut them off, because the tail tip is sensitive & when the hairs drag on the ground, eventually the dog will carry it's tail slightly hooked. Has anyone ever heard this before, or do you think someone was pulling someones leg (or tail)
