The only thing that even remotely compares to flowers for a guy would be a new Springfield 1911 Loaded the next best thing would be a coupon for a fantasy night that you would provide.

You guys are hilarious about the guns....I'm not sure he'd really be into that, not really his thing. I think I probably have more interest - my dad was a hunter, he died when I was 11, but I kind of regret not taking more of an interest now that I have the dogs, b/c it'd be amazing for feeding them. My mom got rid of all our guns, even hers, after he died.
Rich, a gift card is a good idea. I just worry what if it's not personal enough. But from his favourite bike shop might work - his best friend, also a triathlete, is in France right now, though he's been helpful in the past for big presents in terms of tri-specific gear.
On a sad note, my sports medicine doctor does not want me doing an 80k training this weekend, so that sucks, but on the otherhand, at least I won't be all 'bed by 10!' on Friday
