Schutzhund looks quite interesting to me but my concern is that all the Schutzhund clubs insist on participation in the competitions (at least the clubs in DFW area require that) and this is something I would not be interested in doing. Or maybe I would? I guess I will try to visit some of the clubs and talk to people...
Good for you. Who knows you may get hooked like so many of us have. Competing could also be a good thing for your dog. Consider the police dog trials and to compare to another anology that someone else mentioned getting in the ring is experience in hand-to-hand combat far above and beyond the training hall for a UFC competitor.
