Part of our contract when we purchased our pup to complete health guarantee included how we feed him. He needed to be fed raw or high quality kibble. That's just fine. We'd planned on it anyway. But another part is that we feed him NuVet vitamins. What do ya'all know about these vitamins? They don't look evil but we don't feed our own children vitamins - we give them a healthy, whole foods diet and necessary supplements (Cod Liver Oil and herbal teas.) So I'm wondering what the more informed members here think of them?
We're just now switching the pup to raw per my other post. He's on Royal Canin now and I've seen the "Crap-in-a-Bag" posts but that's what he was used to so we wanted to take it on a little at a time. He's been with us two weeks now. Why CLO for my children, is that what you're asking? That might be a little in depth, but let me know if that's what you're really asking.
For the dog we'll be using a cod liver oil especially for dogs of a brand I personally sell, so I can get the pet line at a considerable reduction. If you want me to say the name I can, I just didn't know if that was welcome or okay. Cod liver oil is the body oil of a cod. I have no idea why they call it that?

Yes, please let us know the brand.
You sure about it not coming from the liver of cod? I can't find anything that states otherwise.
My dog gets plenty of vitamin A & D through diet and being outside.
The reason I use fish body oil is to help make up for the lack of omega 3's found in commercially raised livestock, poultry, and fish.
I just can't find a need for cod liver oil. It seems so easy to over-do.

Cod liver oil is exactly what it says: Oil from the liver.
It would be close to impossible to give a beneficial dose of Omega 3s with fish liver oil without overdoing the oil-soluble vitamins that are abundant in it.
Body oil is the way to go, as opposed to liver oil. JMHO.
