Yes Mike, If that exists sign me up. My wife almost hit the floor when I told her it was over $60 for a 26lb. bag! Thanks Natalya for your encouraging words. I appreciate all the help from everyone. This mornings feeding went great. No problems.
So I went out an bought the Wellness Core. They each got 3 parts SD and 1 part Wellness. I will gradually shift to 100% Wellness. By the way does anyone know where I can get a bailout for dog food? That stuff is pricey.
Once you have weaned them off the SD, you should reduce the amount of Wellness Core. I have a moderately active 90lb, 2 year old dog and she gets approximately 2.75 cups per day, if I feed Wellness Core for her entire meal. A 4 lb bag lasts me 1 week...
Good for you for the switch! (and for the other changes you are making in how you live with your dogs. I think you will begin to see a difference right away if you follow the suggestions given)
I came to the board not knowing what I would find exactly. And, my experience to date has been one of helpfulness from the folks here, and I'm receiving and ongoing education. I love it.
You'll find that people here REALLY do care about the dogs and educating the humans. I myself have come a long way and have a VERY LONG way to go. Hang around - you'll be glad you did!
Keep up with the reading and learning. Do right by your dogs and they will do right by you.
Developing the proper pack structure and laying the ground work is the first major step. The diet change is for the best also! When you are ready we can all talk about the benefits of raw if you are remotely interested.
Keep up the good work - you are on the right path.
I am thrilled to report that the eating situation is under control. In fact Jeter is actually waiting QUIETLY while Dakota eats! It only took 2 days for this transformation. I am so proud of them both. I am rotating who eats first at each eating time and everything is great. I owe it all to you guys and two very smart and very receptive dogs. Now lets talk about the way they greet people at the door. I will start a new thread (is that the right term for new subject?)
