There's a story about a spaniel trained to find home made hooch, despite the author's inability to use the correct gender for the dog. Male name, male pronoun, then the dog is called a bitch.
That's interesting! It seems like an easier task to find a vat of open alcohol though.
Many mines and construction camps ban alcohol and drugs from the work site. They bring in a dog to sniff for drugs and alcohol to ensure the workers entering the work site aren't bringing drugs or alcohol.
I was wondering how a dog could be trained to sniff out the different kinds of alcohol even if they are sealed?

That would sure be impressive if they could be trained to do that. I've been trying to train Bailey to detect the difference between bottles containing Australian Cabernet Sauvignon vs a Chambourcin from Pennsylvania but haven't had much success so far. Guess I'll still have to go down to our basement and make our own selections.
