I will be traveling to europe in the fall and wanted to visit some kennels. One area i will be visiting is the Czech Republic and eastern Germany. However my plans are still loose so any sugestions would be great. We are also considering purchasing a dog while we are there any thoughts?
Gordon you would be better of to purchase a home grown dog all things considered(World events & if there is a problem!!!)At least you can take action here (USA) & get some justice if things don't work out.
you are quite correct to ask what gordon is looking for.
the dogs i suggested would potentially suit a working home (police) or even as a schutzhund sport dog. i dont know what he is looking for, and do as others have said wonder why he does not look nearer home ie the US to find a czech lines dog/bitch that may be better or just as
good depending on his requirements.
if gordon can tell us what he wants the dog for work, sport, family campanion.
Show me your dog and i'll tell you what kind of man you are
If we are talking about Wink. he was whelped 1/18/02 so he is a little over a year.
Looking at his pedigree, I am not imppressed by his mothers side. His fathers side from the 3rd generation back looks good...Titus is always good to see. Has 0/1 hips. Looks like old show lines in his mothers side(could be wrong, Hanna-Leena could clarify)
Just doesn't do it for me. Now, I am pretty picky. Could he do SchH? Probably. based on what is said on the website. They are usually pretty acurate. When you learn to read between the lines...lol Is he breed worthy? That would be for the future owner to decide. Would I breed him. Nope.
Wara...Whelped 1/29/01, hips a fast normal
Gero z Bz daughter. Who I am partial to. I like her mothers side as well. Has the potential to produce some very hard pups. I like her except for the hips. Would like to know how the rest of the litter faired. As well as hip production on the mother. Gero is easy enough to find. she is untitled so should be fairly inexpensive(all relative of course)
My trip to Europe was origially just pleasure but now has become an opportunity to attend the World Schutzhund Trials as well as possibly purchasing a dog/bitch that could improve our breeding lines.
We are looking for a working dog for Schutzhund. I am very new to the sport but my wife has been a breeder for many years. All our children are now grown and our dogs have taken on that role for me. I am enjoying working with them very much. We are also looking to support the law enforcement agencies in the rural area in which we live with our breeding program. My wife has focused in the past on pets and AKC show lines and I am now more interesed in the working lines. Thanks to everyone for the replys they are very helpful to us and more so to me.
