Does anybody know much of this bloodline? All I know is that it was used to produce some nice service dogs. It includes: Held, Ingo, and Bernd. Not real familiar with it though.

I have seen Stormfronts Brawnson in competitions and I have seen and heard about a number of his puppies. The dog does have nice pigment, he scores well in competitions but in my opinion he is not a stud dog. As I understand it the dog has been bred a lot just because of his scores. He has not produced one dog that is a high drive dog. He produces A LOT of long haired soft dogs. The pups I hear about are certainly not what one would consider a high drive dog.

I think someone seems to have a serious problem here. If you've got that much experience with Brawnson, why don't you tell us what's wrong with him and I'll confer with his owner as to the correctness of your accusations.

Ingo Rudingen traces back along his sire line to Rolf v OsnabruckerLand, the chosen type of the SV. Rolf was the "new era" and many showlines do go back to him. But what makes up some of the dogs, such as Ingo, is not just where their sire lines go. I'm not an expert, much less on the DDR dogs, but I do know that Ingo was a strong hardworking biddable dog, and for that, I like him. There are other reasons, but I'd have to go rooting through files and dig up all the info to put it out here. I might be able to post some more tomorrow if I'm not beat to the punch tonite.

I see that this topic is on two threads so I will just copy it here. Mike I looked at your web site - very nice. You have nice looking dogs. I can see where your Bronson son (Kane)has very nice pigment. That is Bronson's strong point. I agree with you that he may have produced an occasional nice puppy but I think over all his dogs are soft dogs that lack drive. Look in their eyes - you can see softness. I unerstand that Mike Diehl has titled a couple of Bronsons puppies in Schutzhund but not with good scores and I would be surprised if this dog produces police dogs. I read somewhere that there was one police dog in Germany. Thaqt must be with a new police dog handler.
I believe you are right about Ingo Rudigen. I may be wrong but I thought Ingo went to Burnd Lieberg which would be why he was such a nice producer. Too bad this did not carry through to Bronson.
People have been caught up in the fact that Bronson won the USA police dog championships. That does not make him a stud dog. That same exact thing happened with Greg Momonees (SP?) dog from a couple of years ago - that dog was a real shitter. It was bred like crazy just because it won the police dog championship when in fact it was a very weak soft crappy sport dog that never produced anything and should not have been bred. Bronson is slightly better. He is a flashy competition dog, better than Mononee's dog. But Bronson is not a dog that will be known as a working dog 5 years from now. Time will tell.

Bernd is not in Ingo's pedigree, although Bernd was used in some DDR lines. Ingo is a Quax vH Holland son, linebred 3-2 on Ex v Riedstern. Quax goes back to Bero v Krugers-Hof, who if you trace the sire line back, ends up at Rolf v OsnabruckerLand.

I have no idea where this thread is heading. I got a private message from Ed that I really did not understand. It seems that both of my posts ran together or something <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Anyway, some people seemed to answer my Brawnson post in this one. I was refering to the DDR line 13 bloodline. I am guessing that it was the backbone for the old DDR and czech lines for producing service dogs. It can be viewed at Von Ultimate kennels and Von Forell kennels in Australia. I am just wondering if anyone has any info on this bloodline and how accurate it was in producing service dogs. Again, sorry for the MASS CONFUSION!

***I think you're going pretty far by saying that Greg's dog Alk is a real shitter. He was bred like crazy, too much for my taste, and to a lot unsuitable females. When bred to quality females, he produce some nice offspring, like any decent stud dog.
You seem to be a real authority on Brawnson & Alk, have you ever worked either one of them, or even seen them work? I realize you've seen a few of their offspring, but that hardly gives you the level of expertise you seem to put forth in your posts.

I have seen Bronson and Alk a couple of times. I do not have to walk a dog on a leash to form an opinion. The fact is both of these dogs won the police dog championship. Both are good competitions dogs. I do not argue this. But neither of them are very good producers. Bronson is old enough (I think he is about 8 years old) that we should be seeing some good sons - this is not happening. I believe individuals who have young dogs from Bronson may be encouraged by active prey drive. Where are the people who have older males with fight drive? Why are they not being seen and heard of? I think the answer is because they are soft and they lack fight drive. Anyone thinking about buying a puppy from Bronson should take a good hard look. Do not be mislead by a title or a championship
