About Mark Keating
Mark Keating is featured as a trainer in Leerburg's "The Mechanics of Working a Dog in a Bite Suit" DVD. Mark is a professional dog trainer at Red Star Kennel in Hudson, WI. He is also a French Ring decoy, handler, and trainer and has over 15 years of experience training dogs in obedience, protection work, and behavior modification.
While Mark is known for his dog training here at Leerburg, he is also a musician. Mark Keating started playing the piano at a very young age. He has a variety of musical experiences, having worked in different bars and clubs throughout the country when he was a teen. He worked at a local theme park after high school and started subbing jobs. Mark later on joined a show band that traveled to many casinos, fairs, and festivals around the midwest. Later on, he began to play more bass and working with a local cover band.
Mark now uses the acoustic guitar for musical expression coming from life experiences. Mark's musical influences include the following: CSN, Michael Hedges, Pierre Bensusan, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Peter Gabriel, Jaco Pastorious, Weather Report, Nat King Cole, Townes Van Zandt, Sting, various rap artists like De La Soul, Atmosphere, Tribe Called Quest, The Fugees, and Mos Def.
