In regards to not getting shots for puppies, does that mean you recommend that puppies don’t get any of their vaccines? If so, can that be detrimental?

It is remarkable what you are doing with marker training and your horse. Unbelievable. I really never saw the advantage or reason for marker training or touching something but through your videos and articles, I learned that my biggest limitation is my own mind and understanding!

In regards to not getting shots for puppies, does that mean you recommend that puppies don't get any of their vaccines (usually there are around 5 shots they get)? If so, can that be detrimental? What about the 1 year rabies vaccine?

We will be picking up our white boxer puppy next Friday. We can't hardly wait! Your videos have been extremely helpful for our whole family. I know that we are going to be better owners (people purchase these and think they are going to learn how to have better dogs and the truth of the matter is that you have really taught us how to be better owners)!

Many thanks,
Gus

Cindy Cindy's Answer:
Hi Gus, thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to write.

I don’t feel it’s my place to tell others what to do when it comes to vaccines for their dogs. I do, however, suggest that every dog owner learn about the pros and cons of vaccines and make their choices from a stance of education, not just blindly following what “someone” tells them is right (whether that is a vet or me or anyone else) We don’t give our dogs any vaccines here, even when they are puppies. This is a choice we have made based on past experiences and countless hours of research. Rabies is required by law in all states, but I put off getting this vaccine as long as possible. You might be interested in these books Vaccine Guide for Dogs & Cats and Shock To The System.

I give these books to our puppy customers so they can become more educated on how vaccines work and the risks involved. Five sets of shots for a puppy is a ridiculous amount of vaccines and is extremely outdated science as well. I personally believe that many of today’s dogs health issues are linked to poor diet and over vaccination. I didn’t come to my current beliefs overnight, it’s been a process that’s taken quite a long time and a lot of thought. I am an advocate for the dog, but I believe to be an effective advocate I need to encourage people to ask questions and think for themselves.

You can also use the search function on the left side of the website to find out more about vaccines. I highly recommend the books I mention above as well.

I hope this helps.
